This Department is a vibrant environment to learn thanks to its cutting-edge labs, highly qualified teachers, and experienced, committed faculty members in all streams of mechanical engineering.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It currently offers courses in a variety of areas of mechanical engineering for both undergraduate and graduate students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The department provides a wide range of labs, workshop spaces, and a top-notch research facility with cutting-edge technology to conduct research in all fields relevant to mechanical and production engineering. The faculty actively engages in sponsored research and consulting projects and keeps a strong working relationship with businesses.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dear Students,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Department of Mechanical Engineering strives for increasing the knowledge, enhancing the critical thinking, ability to change information into knowledge. The department has well-qualified and dedicated faculties with well-equipped laboratories.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The students of the Department actively involved in various competitions of National and International repute, like ROBOCON, SAE-BAJA and technical competitions in various institutions like IIT Fests and credited several Winner titles to the Department. The Department has various student chapters like ASME, SAE and ISTE.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our students also proceed to pursue their higher education in top foreign Universities like University of California Berkeley, Wayne State University, University of Wisconsin, etc. Students also have secured admissions for higher education in topmost institutes like IITs, IIMs and NITs in India. The Department faculties along with students are also involved in various Research activities.<\/span>
\nThe major Research Areas are: Design and Vibration, CAD\/CAM\/CAE and Manufacturing, Machining and Micro Machining, Composite Materials, Material Characterization, Nano Materials and Biomaterials, Cryogenics, Service System Design, Reliability, etc.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The faculty aims at putting extraordinary efforts towards motivating the students in solving actual industrial problems by undertaking various projects, industrial visits and in-plant training. We impart quality engineering education through sound theoretical knowledge, hands on laboratory as well as computational skill and exposure to recent technologies by visiting industries. Our curriculum ensures local relevance with a global outlook. We believe in an education which initiates a sense of lifelong learning, leadership values and appreciation of global issues.
