Module 1: Software Project Management(Duration:5 days)

Module 2: PMP Certification Workshop (Duration:3 days)

    Objective:

To equip the participants with Best Practices, tools and techniques and latest trends so that they appreciate the holistic perspective of Project Management. To enable PMPs to make a difference to the approach towards Project Management within the organization in particular and the profession in general.

    Benefits:

  1. Identify gaps in Project Management processes in the organization and propose feasible remedial solutions

  2. Understand and apply Best Practices on a project relevant to the organization
  3. Challenge thought process on management of scope, risks, handling stakeholders and conflicts and evolve strategies for knowledge management

    Methodology:

Effective Skill Transfer and Knowledge Transfer

Effective Skill Transfer is achieved through the 5 day module on “Software Project Management” and effective knowledge transfer is achieved through the 3 day module on PMP Certification Workshop, the detailed agenda is given below:

    PMP Certification Workshop:
    Day 1:

Scope, Time, Human Resource and Communication - Quantitative examples and quizzes

    Day 2:

Cost - Concepts and quantitative examples followed by quiz. Quizzes on Quality and Risk

    Day 3:

"Cost" and "Procurement" are not covered in "Software Project Management”

There will be 10 quizzes each of 40 Q & A. and a mock examination of 200 Q & A which is to be taken after the workshop is over.

Q. I understand that the total duration of the program is five plus three totaling eight days. I understand other training organizations conduct PMP Certification program in less than five days and claim participants can take the PMP Test within a couple of days after attending the program. How is this module different?

A. Education cannot be compressed. There are certain areas in Project Management like “Human Resource Management” and “Communication Management” which requires lot of unlearning, adopting a different approach to our default leadership styles and the way we handle conflicts. “Risk Management” and “Scope Management” have their own nuances. “Professional Responsibility” is more of an attitude and there are no silver bullets. In our training program we emphasis fundamentals, concepts and best practices and we challenge the thought process - the participants are intelligent enough to apply the principles in the day to day management of projects and in analyzing situations in the PMP test. But then, the participants need time to reflect on what was discussed in the workshop and make them their second nature and institutionalize the learning. We are focused on Education and not tutorials. Though our success rate of first attempt in PMP test is 99%, we strongly believe there is no short cut to success!

Great minds have purpose, others have wishes!

Q. Will you continue to offer “Professional Project Management”?

A. Yes! Our job as Education Consultants is to create awareness on all available and possible options, but we will respect the decision of our esteemed clients.

One of the key success factors for successful management of projects is Risk Management. A common feedback from the Industry is either Risk Management is done superficially or it is done to an extent where the value addition starts dropping. One of the common risks that is taken for granted is "Customer Satisfaction Risk". Many times a risk mitigation strategy gives rise to other risks which were not there in the first place! The question that needs to be asked is how does one go about identifying and managing risks, the overall objective being - Mitigate maximum risks with minimum contingency plans. Do we need to think differently?
