Essential Goals and Scope The workshop presents the fundamentals of competency-based assessment and development with special emphasis on project and programs. Based on field studies undertaken in 2006 a new PM Standard has been defined that specifically addresses the needs of large complex projectss in petrochemical, oil and gas, energy, transport and construction industries. It presents also a coherent approach to acquiring and enhancing the skills and competencies of the project management staff of both host and performing organisations, inluding project/program managers, management consultants, manageemnt contractors, EPC contractors, design consultants, vendors QA certifiersang others involvedin conceptualisation,planning, design, procurement and construction of capital projects. The workshop will cover the following:
- Managememnt of complex engineering projects, the results from case studies
- The PM Standard for competncy in project/program management
- Assessment and development of project manageemnt staff competencies based on the PM Standard
- Professional ethics and value
- Competency assessment tools
- Preparation of a tailored teaming and development plan
