Advanced Computerised Project Management: 

Q: I am already using MS Project, what is the value addition I am going to get by attending this course?  

A: To learn and implement MS Project, three things are essential: How, why, when 'How' can be learned by browsing through Help in MS Project Our focus is on 'Why' and 'When'. Since MS Project is a tool addressing Project Management, unless certain concepts of Project Management are clear, one cannot use beyond 10 -15% of the features of the tool Our emphasis is on Behaviour of Critical Path, Hanger Check, Resource leveling, Base lining, Resource Pool, Web based Communication, work arounds, recommended checks and balances etc The course demonstrates how to manage projects effectively using MS Project.                                                                             

Q. Our people are using MS Project for the past three years - they are all senior executives. Could you conduct a program for one day only covering Advanced Concepts?

A. The fact they are using MS project for the past three years is not a guarantee they are integrating Project Management concepts along with the tool. They might be making the same "mistake" repeatedly. Overall seniority in the industry is no indication that all the recommended best practices of the usage of the tool are being implemented. Usage of MS Project definitely needs training from professionals who have hands on experience on projects and not just the tool alone. Our program covers all aspects essential to use the tool effectively. 

Q: What would happen if I attend your Microsoft project program and then decide to shift to some other tool?                   

A: The entire workshop revolves round a structured way of imparting the tool and the main value-addition of our program is the live case study. More than focusing on the features of the tool, we are more focused on the Project Management concepts and the implementation of the same using the tool. The mandatory features linked to Project Management concepts are used as a process in the three-day interactive workshop. The same Project Management concepts along with the checklists/guidelines could be applied to any tool.   

Enterprise Project Management:   

Q: Do the Project Managers need to understand server administration also?

A: To an extent, yes. The PMs should understand what they can expect from the

tool. Understanding basic security features, views etc. can be of great help.

Q: Should the Administrators be trained before imparting training to Project Managers?   

A: The administrators' training is a different module. The setup, however, needs to be complete before PMs are trained i.e. Resource Breakdown Structure, Enterprise Global, cube for Analysis services should have been set up

Q. Could you conduct PMP certification for our organization next week?

Q: I am already managing Software Projects. Do I need to take this program?

In this unique program, participants learn and apply Project Management Body of Knowledge Concepts published by Project Management Institute, USA, on a real life Software Project Each participant is requested to bring to class a current project to use as a case study, and break into small groups to study the issues and challenges and learn to apply best practices pertaining to Project Management processes The participants will propose, plan, resolve issues of performance, schedule, control and carry out a full-scale Software project throughout its life cycle The course is interspersed with lecture, discussion and interactive exercises. Participants will leave the program with a workable plan of action for managing Software projects effectively - and the skills needed to make the plan succeed.

A: Once a training program is done the actual queries come up only during the implementation of these processes, concepts or best practices on real life projects These queries are addressed either through personal visits to the respective companies in the form of consultancy or emails if it suffices the purpose

Q: What is the basic difference between your two programs Software Project Management and Professional Project Management?

A. In both of the above mentioned programs, the course content is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge, published by PMI, USA. But the focus is different. The Professional Project Management program is totally examination focused. The course prepares project managers / engineers who wish to take the PMP Certification examination conducted by PMI, USA. Sample questions & answers are discussed. In the Software Project Management program participants learn and apply Project Management Body of Knowledge Concepts published by Project Management Institute, USA, on a real life Software Project

A. Yes, most of our programs are customized to suit the organisation's requirements.

Q: Can there be a blend of your programs?

A. Yes, why not? Most of the companies go in for a mix match of our programs. Typically most of the companies go in for Software Project Management blended with

MS Project or Software Project Management with PMP Certification tutorial.
